I wish there was something I could do to meaningfully comfort Gia. She’s running on pure heroism at this point.
First the kids. Sonogram today showed that they are still stable. Cervix is well within expected parameters. Gia isn’t going into labor yet.
On the other hand, the contractions have taken on a whole new character. They are longer and more sustained now. There isn’t any pain yet, but last night, the contractions essentially squeezed her abdomen so much that for the first time in her pregnancy, Gia vomited. More importantly, her body is starting to resist the Tribulin shots that are given to suppress the contractions.
She hasn’t felt like eating. She can’t sleep because of the contractions. When I called her this morning, she sounded weak and tired for the first time.
As bad as all of this sounds, medically speaking, Gia and the kids are doing very well. We are in the home stretch now.
